Detection of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in Livestock Houses Based on Electronic Nose

The composition of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in large-scale livestock farms is complex, which seriously affects the health and difficult to evaluate. In order quickly analyze pollution degree VOCs farms, electronic nose technology was used this study detect gases pig chicken houses, respectively. Firstly, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) were houses at different time locations. types relative contents obtained from by GC–MS analysis. sensor array response showed similar results. addition, linear discriminant analysis (LDA), K nearest neighbor (KNN) support vector machine (SVM) analyses performed on electrical signal that generated sensors nose, Finally, classification rate odor sources highest (>85%), indicates SVM a more effective method suitable for recognition farms. results have shown developed promising feasible instrument characterizing odors
